TENNISCLUB ESCHENBACH
Our small but fine club is located in Eschenbach in the heart of the Upper Palatinate. Tennis can be enjoyed here in a relaxed, family atmosphere.
ABOUT US
The Eschenbach Tennis Club is a long-standing club within the community. Since its founding in 1956, it has supported the community with various annual events and has grown to almost 200 members in recent years. The club currently has 4 tennis courts and a full clubhouse with kitchen, bar, beer vending machine, showers, etc. The clubhouse accommodates 45 members and is used throughout the year for various activities including meetings, Easter and Christmas events, birthday parties, etc.
The outdoor tennis courts are made of sand and are prepared for use from May 1st to October. Around October 31st, the sites will be inactive again and prepared for the coming winter.
The club is a private, member-run club. This means that all facilities are maintained by club members. Members are strongly encouraged to attend one of the various annual events for up to five hours, particularly during the April and October events where courts are prepared for the season and winter.

Gestern Nachmittag haben sich unsere “Knaben 15 plus Emma” mit einem souveränen 6:0 Sieg gegen die Mannschaft der Jugend SG Kitschenrain im Nachholspiel die Meisterschaft in ihrer Altersklasse gesichert 🏆🎾🤗🌞👏! Wir freuen uns riesig mit euch über diesen tollen Erfolg und gratulieren Hannes, Maxi, Jayden, Leo und Emma recht herzlich. 🎾💪 Die Bilanz des Teams ist mit 5 Siegen und 1 Unentschieden wirklich beeindruckend! Wie üblich die Ergebnisse unserer Mannschaften vom vergangenen Wochenende: Während sich unsere Bambini am Samstag gegen den SC Kirchenthumbach zu einem 3:3 Unterschieden kämpften, verloren unsere Damen ihren Saisonabschluss gegen den neuen Meister aus Cham, trotz hartem Kampf, am Ende mit 3:6. Die neue Spielklasse konnte jedoch souverän gehalten werden und wir freuen uns schon auf die Saison25 unserer Mädels! 😊🎾 Am folgenden Wochenende stehen folgende Partien an: Knaben15 vs TC SW Pegnitz II (28.06., Fr., Pegnitz) Herren vs SC Kirchenthumbach (30.06., So, Eschenbach) -> Saisonabschluss! #tceschenbach #🎾❤️ #medensaison2024 #eschenbachinderoberpfalz #tennis -
Die Ergebnisse des Wochenendes stehen an. Während die Damen und Bambini leider jeweils herbe Niederlagen gegen den TV Vohenstrauß und den TC Grün-Rot Weiden II einstecken mussten, konnten unserer Herren einen am Ende knappen 5:4 Sieg gegen unsere Freunde aus Engelmannsreuth einfahren. HISTORY
It was in May 1955 when 10 to 15 idealists had the idea of building a tennis court on the meadow behind the Hotel am See. Without hesitation, the owner at the time, Hans Hofmann, made the property available to them free of charge for 20 years. Every shovel of material, every stone had to be moved with physical strength. 800 sqm area, 70 m running embankment and 100 m drainage.
The work was completed with the spring sun of 1956. And so, on May 14, 1956, exactly one year after construction began, 10 interested parties met at the Hotel am See for the founding meeting. These were the ladies and gentlemen Eberl, Wild, Sponer, Fritsch, Langer, Hupp, Gerstmann, Kamm and Beer. The club became the Eschenbach i.d.OPf Tennis Club…baptized and its first board consisted of the members mentioned.
During the time at the Hotel am See, the tennis club was more or less an idyllic family business with around 25 members. But over time, interest in tennis grew in Eschenbach and many active people joined the club. Due to this situation, the board had to deal with the construction of a second square, but this ultimately failed due to the high land acquisition costs.
What to do? That was the question at the tennis club. And so, due to a lack of space, it was with a heavy heart that they decided to leave the wonderful facility at the Rußweiher and, with the help of the city of Eschenbach, found a new home at Birschling.
In 1970, negotiations and preparations for the new facility at Birschling began. After a lengthy construction period, the work was completed at the end of 1976 - the magnificent complex on Birschling was completed.
